Someone like you

Yes. For those who are into music you would know that the title of this post is from Adele's song "Someone like you". And for those who know me, you would know that I'm a huge Lady Gaga fan and that I have a thing against Adele since she 'stole' all of the Grammys from Lady Gaga. haha. But all of these aside, music is music, and the themes in any song can capture the hearts of people regardless of the singer.

Over the past few years, I have been hurt and scarred so badly by Love. Words cannot convey my emotions, but some time ago I truly did find someone whom I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, only to realize that the person couldn't return my love because of certain circumstances. In the words of Adele's song, "sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead"; and for me that situation hurt and broke me. Having said all these, I have now already moved on and I know that I cannot keep on living in the past - I have put the regrets and pain behind me for a long time now.

It should have ended there. But for me at least, it isn't over. Even today I am still searching for someone whom I can give my love to; someone whom I know can love me in return and give me his heart. I always imagine what my life would have been like if that person did love me in return. But one thing's for certain - I can never have him! And so since he cannot be the one, then I must search for someone like him. Of course it is impossible to find this person's identical in terms of his appearance and personality, but I'm sure somewhere out there there will be someone else who is very much like him, where the only difference is that this person can love me in return.

And so to the person whom I had feelings for in the past; yes, it has long been over and I do not have feelings for you anymore; and "never mind, I'll find someone like you"... ...
